Privacy, terms & disclaimer

Privacy policy

When you choose a ZIP archive, your browser reads it on your device. Messages and extracted media are saved in your browser's local IndexedDB storage so you can return to them later. Optional contact photos are also stored locally. We do not upload your chat files, messages, or media to our servers.

Opening this website still involves normal network requests to load the site's files. This local-processing statement does not cover your browser, device, network provider, or any external links you choose to open. Do not use the viewer on a shared device unless you are comfortable with the archive remaining in that browser profile.

You can delete an imported conversation using Delete from browser in Contact info. Clearing the site's browser storage also removes locally saved archives and settings. Browser storage may be cleared automatically, become unavailable, or reach its quota. Keep your original ZIP as a backup.

Terms of use

Use this viewer only for archives you are entitled to access. You are responsible for how you handle, share, or export any conversation and for respecting other participants' privacy and applicable law. This tool is for reading exported data, not for accessing accounts or recovering messages missing from an export.

Exports can be incomplete or formatted differently. Some features, such as reactions or reply links, may be absent because the export did not include them. The service is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, data retention, or compatibility with every export. Nothing here limits rights or protections that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Independent service & trademarks

WhatsApp Rewind is an independent, third-party viewer for files exported from WhatsApp. It is not WhatsApp, is not intended to impersonate WhatsApp, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. The interface is designed to make exported conversations familiar to read, not to reproduce the official service or imply an official relationship.

WhatsApp and related names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. References to WhatsApp describe compatibility with exported files. This notice does not grant rights to use any third-party trademark.
